Please think of the Vandeveer family in their time of grief.
Located halfway between Indianapolis and Terre Haute just off Exit 41 of Interstate 70, the colossal horse arena will be transformed for the fourth straight year into a full-service pulling facility.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn, mother Lucille, brothers Ray Jr.
(Ellen) and Rolland (Cindy), sisters Mary Ann (Norman) Rhoades and Marilyn (Brian) Britton, son Michael (Tammy), daughter Michelle (Chris) Blomberg, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Vandeveer's full obituary may be found here, where messages of condolence may be left for the family.
The WPI/NTPA family is saddened to hear of the passing on Monday, November 6 of Michael "Chris" Cox, 56, of London, Ohio. Cox was best known to pulling fans and competitors as a member of the Enderle Memorial Pull-Off's security staff stationed at the infield gate at the starting-line end of the track.
He was also a devoted fan of the motorsport and frequently attended national and state pulls in western and central Ohio. Cox retired from Madison Correctional after 26 years and drove for the 3-C Cab Company before starting his own business.
Tractor Supply Company (TSC) carries The Puller and the annual PULL! Hats, event shirts, hoodies, pins, and patches all sport the iconic NTPA shield that represents excellence in premier-level pulling.
